Comics I've Read From July 5, 2007
There are so many great books to read again this week! This is so unusual for me. In the past, I usually have only one week a month where I'm reading multiple issues. Summertime and the comics are stupendous. World War Hulk is still entertaining me immensely with the Irredeemable Ant-Man tie-in. Now, we know that Hulk really needs to eat a more balanced diet! Runaways #27 continues the great early 1900's thread. It seemed very realistic (i.e. Typhoid Mary headline). Joss Whedon has seamlessly taken over where Brian Vaughan left off. Speaking of Brian K. Vaughan, how is he going to wrap up Y The Last Man in just three issues? I've promised myself that I will read to the end even though I'm distressed to see it end. When Starman was going to end, I had a tantrum and didn't read the last issues. Big mistake! Dark Tower #6 continues to be true to Stephen King's series with its stark grisliness. Now on to Robert Kirkman, I enjoyed The Astounding Wolf-Man #2 (#1 came out on Free Comic Book Day-we still have copies if you need one). It's a fun and imaginative read; although, what a change in voice from The Walking Dead. Yes, I've soaked in 2 volumes and can't wait to read the next. No character is safe, and the matter-of-fact harshness is appealing.
